Hello!
I am Stephen Xian S. Habla, a 4th year student taking Bachelor of Special Needs Education (BSNE) at the Far Eastern University. One of the many SEATeachers representatives from the FEU conducting the exchange program all over Indonesia. Being accommodated by the Halu Oleo University and deployed at the SD Lazuardi Ibnu Sina for the teaching exchange and immersion.
My Story
I chose to join the SEATeacher project in order to broaden and put my teaching knowledge and skills into actuality. Furthermore, in order to gather and enhance my teaching knowledge through the lenses of a different perspective of education in Indonesia; to retain and further equip my repertoire to be effective in teaching. In addition, the opportunity also helps in learning different strategies and approaches compared to the Philippine education system that I can utilize in teaching students with special needs in the future.
The reason for pursuing this course is due to my innate compassion and empathy for others even when I was still young. The initiative to help teach students who do not fit or learn from the standard or traditional molds or those with special needs is my goal. Due to the fact that education is for all regardless of our differences, everyone has a right to have the opportunity to learn. Furthermore, with the trend and initiative towards the development of special needs in Philippine education, I plan to take part in this niche to further progress the need for inclusivity and play my part in helping these students have the education and learning they deserve.
