
SEATeacher Project Batch of 2o23
The SEA Teacher Project or the “Pre-Service Student Teacher Exchange in Southeast Asia” is one of the projects established by the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education ( SEAMEO) consisting of countries like Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, and the Philippines. It presents an opportunity for the 4th year pre-service student teachers throughout the various universities of the said countries in order to have an immersive teaching experience and cultural learning; integrating and absorbing different perspectives and knowledge that will equip towards the "Revitalization Teacher Education quality of these countries."
Through the multiple successful batches, the SEATeacher project continued its process for many years to come. But sadly with the emergence of Covid 19 Pandemic, the project itself has been shelved until further notice. Fortunately, due to the unconstrained opening of the countries against COVID-19, the SEATeacher project started again in 2023. And now accommodating additional pre-service teachers in the fields of special needs education compared to core subjects of science, English, social studies, and mathematics from before. Far Eastern University ( FEU) is one of the sending universities along with Ateneo de Naga University (AdNU), Saint Mary University (SMU), and Saint Louis University (SLU); which all lasted a duration of at least 28 days with a mandatory 3 weeks at their practicum schools to experience different stages of observation, assistanship, and practicum.
